Our Dispensers are happy to take requests for repeat prescriptions and can also dispense medicines to patients who live more than a mile from the surgery. They are also able to help with any queries patients may have in respect of their medication.
Mrs Maxine Lendon (f)
I started my Dispensing Career at Boots in Shirley, Southampton in 1999 working on the chemist and photographic counters.
In 2002 I moved to St Peters Pharmacy, Woolston where I achieved my NVQ 3 in 2005 and ACT qualification in 2006. In 2009 St Peters was taken over by Lloyds Pharmacy and I was then promoted to Pharmacy manager. I joined Fordingbridge surgery as Dispensary Services manager in October 2013.
Mrs Teresa Bryant (f)
I joined the Practice in September 1976 as a full-time Receptionist, moving into the Dispensary in 1978 when the existing Dispenser (Carol) went on maternity leave. I worked as a full-time Dispenser until 1988 when I started my own family. Since then I have worked 20 hours per week in the Dispensary. In 1999 I studied and gained distinction in the BTEC professional development certificate in Science (Dispensing Skills).
Mrs Jackie Ball-Ingram (f)
I qualified as a Dispensing Technician in 2002 gaining my NVQ Level 3. I began my career working full time in an independent chemist in Salisbury.
I left in 2006 to start a family.
I joined Fordingbridge Surgery in 2007 as a part time Dispenser and enjoy the varied challenges that come with the job.
Mrs Jane Biddlecombe (f)
I joined the Surgery team in 1981, working mornings as a Receptionist and afternoons as a Dispenser under the watchful eyes of Teresa, Carol and the GPs. I reduced my working hours in 1987, after starting a family, and concentrated on Dispensary work, occasionally helping out at Reception, with computer entries and secretarial work. I passed the BTEC/General Pharmacy Dispensers in General Practice course, covering pharmacology, pharmaceuticals and dispensing skills, legal aspects, management and basic sciences in January 2001 at distinction level.
Mrs Carol Holloway (f)
I began dispensing work in 1972, after leaving college, and worked for three years at Locus Pharmacy in Fordingbridge, now a branch of Lloyds Pharmacy. I joined the Surgery in 1988 and at that time was the only Dispenser. I returned after maternity leave in 1978 to work part-time, covering both Dispensary and Reception. I now work 3.5 days per week, sharing the workload with four other Dispensers.
Mrs Diane Paton (f)
I started my working life as a National Insurance Inspector but left to bring up our 3 boys. More recently I have worked for the District Council and New Hall Hospital as reception manager. For the last 6 years I have worked as a dispenser at the surgery. I am also a local councillor for Fordingbridge.
Miss Erin Purkiss (f)
I joined the practice in May 2013 as a receptionist, following working for Lloyds pharmacy throughout my school and college years, completing Over The Counter training and gaining experience in dispensing. I enjoyed reception life, and I was grateful for the change and variety of the job...but my keen interest in medicine tempted me back in! I was lucky enough to have support from the practice in completing my NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills and a BTEC National Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science.
